News these days is just full of crisis messaging, about stagnation of growth and Doomsday scenarios. Journalists hurry to make you good and proper understand how bleak life will be that awaits us all. Consumer confidence seemed to slide down continuously, governments would only focus on cost reduction and labour unions would be ready for tough action. The high level of abstraction in the news flow is remarkable.
Which is the vision that designers and artists currently develop towards a changing economy? What does ‘revaluation’ mean to people with great interest in innovation? Are they quietly packing their bags to sneakily move to richer nations, or do they engage the ‘crisis’ in order to change the way we approach the ‘misery’ like vacant offices, broken laptops, currency depreciation, and too much time off?
